actually..it is the shift arm (about 4 inches long and sits vertical...connects at the back of the shift rod)...not the item you showed..but I appreciate the effort!...do you know which one I mean?

I have attached a photo...it is the arm at the back of the shift rod....the teeth wear out...apparently someone out there makes a two piece set in steel or stainless...so all that is needed is to dremel the old one out and replace with the two piece set up...a breeze and no more loose shift rod!

anyone?!!

T-Bone,

Did you try Walters Workshop? I don't know if they are still in business but I have one of theirs and like it a lot.

I remember this exact product.  They were advertising in the back pages of a few of the bike magazines.  I haven't seen their ad for a couple of months.  Perhaps someone who saves their back issues might chime in.  I will look for you and see what I can find.

I need to start drinking more, it helps keep the voices down.

I believe this is what you are looking for.

Have had that lever fail before.  A couple of times over the years.  That's a crappy on-the-road failure.  I'd use his lever just as a prophylactic against the aluminum part crapping out again.

Here is another part.  It's not a fix for a stripped shifter, but a better looking replacement.

I use "better lever" product, I put it on last spring, great product. When I talked to person making them, I got the impression it was small operation, great idea, good guy to deal with ! maybe not ready for overwhelming responce. I hope he continues venture  :pumpkin:
