New Bike Set up
« on: March 15, 2011, 03:44:53 PM »

Hi,
I just posted on this on the new member site today when I introduced myself but I think I ought to post my question here as well.
Picking up a 2011 CVO Softail Convertible  This will be my first EFI bike.

The only mod I'm making on the bike is putting on a SuperTrapp Supermeg 2-1 with a SERT. The dealer is going to install the SuperTrapp before pick-up and download a base map for the 2011 CVO set-up compatible with my bike's features. Then after 1,000 mile break in, I bring it back and get fine tuned on the dyno.

Does that sound like the right procedure? or should I have him keep the OEM exhaust on and then set up the SuperMeg after break-in? or does it make a difference?

If your going to put a 1000 miles on it leave it all stock. There is no reason to break these new motors in for that many miles.....you can be on the dyno getting a full tune in just a few hundred.
