Throttle body / injector question
« on: March 17, 2011, 01:44:59 AM »

Recently had my 07 SEUC dynoed and the results were 103.92 H.P. and 113 FT LBS. Motor has Andrews 54 cams, Heads milled .60, stage 1 air filter and rinehart 2-1. Brike was richened up and runs well but the Tech (Konrad from TNT) in Nashville believes that i am leaving some on the table from the stock 46 mm throttle body and 3.8 gr injectors. Advised is the 50 mm with 4.9 injectors due to numbers over 100 h.p.. your thoughts????

Thanks much...

I believe your numbers are more than fine for that build an personnally I wouldn't spend the money on a larger throttle body and new tune for the little gain it will provide.
As far as the injectors go, you need to look at the Data Log at 6000 rpm to see the injector milli volts.....if your over 16 millivolts you need larger injectors because the duty cycle is above 80% which means the injectors might not be shutting off when the valve is closed ....if your at or below 16 millivolts there is nothing to be gained by larger injectors.

I would tend to agree with Doc.  Without some headwork, you'd see very minimal results. If you did some headwork to increase overall flow, then the recommended throttle body would be of benefit.

I wouldn't be surprised if you are near or at the limit of your injectors with your current system.  But again, without some headwork, I'd leave it alone...

Doc, you're the MAN!  I wished I lived closer to you so I could have you available to do performance upgrades and tuning.  I've learned much from reading your posts.
