SFC Donald M Shue coming home after 42 years. SFC Shue was attached to a army unit that performed highly classified operations though out southeast Asia. He went missing on a patrol mission on November 3, 1969. His unit was ambushed 30 miles inside Laos. His remains where found by a farmer who contacted his government, along with his remains a Zippo lighter with his name engraved where found. His remains where identified by DNA.
His nephew Mickey Jones said " So much time has passed, the odds of ever finding him where just so small". SFC Donald Shue will arrive at the Charlotte airport on April 30. The family has contacted Rolling Thunder chapter #2 N.C. to escort him home and to the cemetery the following day. His nephew will lead the procession. Shue himself was a biker. Lets honor this man for sacrificing his all to protect our freedoms.
