Hello everyone,
To answer some of your questions about my project. I did the single sided rotor because I wanted to have the 21" seen more than having the rotor covering up the wheel. I have not noticed any real difference in braking power. I think the reason that I have not noticed much if any difference is because with the new set-up I now have a much larger rotor in a 13", and instead of a stock 4 piston caliper on each side, I now have a better 6 piston caliper. I still think that the stock dual rotor is probably slightly better. Truly, I cannot really tell the difference. SINGLE ROTOR IS A TOTAL LOOK THING!!
I definitely think that if you are thinking of a 21", you should do the 1" lowering kit on the front to help bring you back to level.
As for Dyna Beads, they are very little ceramic beads that go inside of your tire to keep the tire balanced continuously as a tire spins and wears with age. This is nice I believe because nobody ever takes and re-balances a tire as as tire looses rubber and begins to wear. With Dyna Beads, they will always balance the tire for you. This keeps you from having to have the ugly stick on weights on an nice looking wheel.
As for the tire size, I am running a Dunlop Elite 3 120/70R21 radial tire. I was recommended by a friend in the tire business about the Dunlop Elite 3 because it is such a similar tread to the stock Dunlop that is on the rear. The Elite 3 also is the tire that has been used on Goldwing's for quite some time. It is supposed to be a good tire for the heavier weighted bikes with fairings.
I hope that this information helps you, please give me a shout with any further questions.
Thanks,
Glide Boy
