Does this same price apply to Sirius since they are the same company now? Asking because if I subscribe to XM on my bike the wifey will want a Sirius subscription in her car.  ;D ;D

I would assume so when you go on the website it shows both options I would try the letter/phone call thing and if they dont make the offer just say thanks anyway they dont know who you are.

In Michigan, I explained to xm that I will not keep subscription for full year because it was on a motorcycle and we tend to store our bikes during the winter.  They just sent me a renewal for 5 months $20.  I am going to start it May 1st  8)

XM would not accept my unit as a add-on addition to the Sirus account on my company car. They do not work together. Takes a seperate acct for each application, xm and sirus.

I called Sirius and got the music only deal--it removes all the talk and comedy stations which works for me since I only listen to a couple of music stations anyway. It's a few bucks a month cheaper if that works for you. Haven't tried it with the bike XM yet, but since they are the same company I'm guessing I should be able to get that on the bike also.

Has anyone noticed any sound quality reduction when listening to XM versus the radio and a CD?  For some reason the quality of sound when I play XM is not nearly as good as the radio or a CD.  Any suggestions?

I believe the reason XM sounds worse than almost all other sources is due to the fact that their signal is HIGHLY compressed.  They put all their data in a narrow band, so they have to compress it more than any radio signal.  The higher the compression, the lower the quality of the sound when it is "uncompressed" at your radio.

That makes sense...except it doesn't explain why it sounds so much better in my car. There is almost no differenct between CD, IPOD or XM in the car.

I have been a Sirius subsciber since Howard Stern moved there. Over the last 11 years I have purchased vehiciles witth Sirius and XM. It is a a nightmare dealing with either company on the issue of one account for both companies. They are one company but but both run on separate sattalite systems. Even though I have had a Sirius account, I can not now add XM and pay through Sirius, so not additional radio discount, I have argued, complained, bitched and moaned to BOTH companies that are the SAME (yeah, right) to no availe. $13.99 a month from XM for the SERG radio even though Sirius gets $9.99 a month for any additionl radio added to your account.

In the busines world, this is one crazy way to "merg" companies.
