I got my first Harley in December. Been telling my wife I wanted my 'bad boy' bike for awhile. Decided to keep my 2007 Kawasaki Classic 1500 for the boys and my 2009 Kawasaki Voyager (touring bike) when riding with my wife. I've been able to talk her into short rides to do dinner since she knows how much I love parking up front with the other Harleys.
I used to only ride if it was 55 or more, but if the sun is out and 40 then I'm taken her out. Can't wait for warmer weather.
I did a lot of looking and was down to a 2009 CVO Springer Softail and the 2010 Softail Convertible. Tough decision. In my opinion the Springer is a better looking bike, but ultimately decided on the comfort of the Convertible vs forward controls on the Springer. I don't regret my decision since the Convertible is such a comfortable ride. I added the Lindby Highway bar, V&H Big Radius 2 into 2 with Battley TFI, and a chrome stash pipe so I can carry my registration when the bags are removed (which is almost always). It's a different feel in the corners with the 200 back tire so can only imagine the 240 on the Springer would have been tougher to manage in the corners. I love the look of the wide tires, but its a trade-off in corning ability.
The CVO 110 is a rocket. I'm loving the power and loud exhaust.
Anyway I started doing some post at Proud50 (I'm 52, but started that screen name a couple years ago)
I have been enjoying everyone's post and have learned a lot.
