Radio, CB reception
« on: March 28, 2011, 07:37:48 PM »

I have a 2009 and the problem I have is that sometimes I can't hear the reception too well, mainly over 65 mph, I have replaced the cord to the tank, sometimes I hear in one ear and other times both ears ( my hearing is fine) is  this just a Harley thing.

By the way I just had the SE 2011 compensator put in my bike, the power has impoves a 100% no clunking and such in the primary case

thanks for any imput

I have a 2011 CVO Street Glide, and have ordered a 2011.5 BIG BLUE.... Are you saying the Compensator in these is a new thing?  I have a bit of throttle body noise clatter, and a bit of a primary sound like a compensator rattle, or a primary tensioner noise or something...  HD says they hear a little but cannot diagnose and cannot find a problem and not to worry about it...  Please elaborate what you did and why...

g'day, I'm an aussie to, I live here in LA. I'm origionally from Maitland NSW. I'm completely useless at merchanical things so therefore I'm a complete nut on maintenace, my mechanic said my 2009 engine didn't sound right and because it was still under factory warranty he told me to take it to the dealership, well after they messed around a bit the company sent me a new 2011 engine, now this dosen't include the primary case. my mechanic said that I should get a updated compensator he said they didn't have them in 2009. So I did,and as I said all the rattle went away and there is an instant smooth flow of power from the engine to the transmission without the clunk I would normally get, I asked my mechanic when he put the thing did it look diiferent and he said with was 100% different the old cpmpensator looked flimsy beside it. the one I put in was an screamin eagle 402 74-08, if you check around the website other people should have comments on it.
by the way if you ever come up here for a bike ride, I do the Run for the Wall every year, its from LA to DC, I would highly recommend this for your first ride in the US.  website is RFTW.org

Cool Anzac,
 :jack:

That RFTW.org is a heck of a ride across the U.S.   It looks like fun, and in the Company of Brothers....  I will consider it if timing permits such a thing...

Bless your efforts...  Cowboy

I hope you can make the rftw one year, let me know if you need any help, we have one or two other aussies sometimes but they would love to have an Anzac platoon, I go on the central route and when we stop at Gallup New Mexico, I'm going to have my picture taken with some Indian ( they come out and welcome us ) I'm going to send the picture to OZ bike magazine
