Stock 2011 SESG shocks or Progressive 945's?
« on: March 29, 2011, 04:11:24 PM »

So I kept my 940's off my last bike, only a couple thousand miles on them. How are these new shocks that are coming on the SESG's? Should I pull them off and sell them while they are new or are they pretty good? If I were to sell them, what would they be worth? this is not a for sale add, just trying to figure out if I should run these or my 940's?

I have the 940's on my 08 Road King and I like the feel and handling of the shocks on my 2011 FLHXSE2 much better. I think the shocks retail for $549.

My two cents-----------I would ride the stockers for a few hundred miles before selling them. I was convinced I was going to install Bitubos from Traxxion dynamics til I got my bike and rode it. The new suspension front and rear is pretty damn awsome ------------and it is paid for already.

Exact same thoughts here!  I have the Bitubos on everything else and was absolutely certain that they would be going on the SESG2 as well, but I must say that so far, I am extremely pleased with the stock rear suspension on the FLHXSE2!  I'll certainly monitor the ride quality and handling as they wear further, but so far, no reason to change a thing!

Well to be perfectly honest, the 940's didn't impress me that much, hope I like the stockers better.

I only have a few hundred miles on my 2011 but so far I'm really happy with the suspension as well.  I'm 200 lbs and ride mostly solo so I dialed it down to 0 and added 2 turns.  Ride and adkust and I think you'll be very happy.

I agree with everyone else. I have about 1500 miles on my SESG so far and they are great. Best handling stock suspension I have ever rode. I am gonna ride mine like it is for a while. Hope this helps some.
