AJ - that is the rain suit.  We like it.  If we rode a lot in colder climates not sure it would be out choice, but here it has served us well.  Can always layer up under it as needed. She was surprised at the price (she never hunted or backpacked in Goretex) but after she wore it a few times, never said a word about how much it cost.  I use the jacket as a windbreaker on the bike occasionally too.  Did not come with stuff sacks (should have - does anybody at the HD Motorclothes Division ride in rain?) bought those at Walmart.

We got to try out our Frogg Togg Elites yesterday coming home from Daytona. Got in a real toad strangler just south of Atlanta. They worked great!!!!

My 5.11 ATAC Storm waterproof boots SUCK at keeping my feet dry, but the Frogg Toggs Elite Highway suits kept us super dry.

Hey AJ........ where'd that rain come from? You promised me we'd stay dry all the way home. ;)

Chuck - a riding buddy's old Frogg Toggs wore out - started leaking after 5-6 years. He just bought a brand new set & LOVES them.  Redesigned.  They seem to fit a little better.  The earlier versions sometimes appeared to be tailored by Omar the Tentmaker....

We too had the original, paper towel looking stuff since 2001. They served us very well and were the perfect sets for us because the packed extremely small which was ultra important. They too wore out and started allowing water in at the seat, probably sitting on them had detrimental effect on the material.

For Christmas, I was given the new FT Elite Highway suit. It is nothing like the original FT stuff. It's a real rain suit. The outer shell looks like nylon, but it is their Gore tex like stuff. There is a mesh inner liner and you would never recognize it as FT product if you were familiar with the original.

Their garment design still isn't North Face design quality, but it is light years ahead of the circus bibs I had before. The elastic drawstring at the waist is a joke and the neck opening is still way too big. the new stuff of course does not pack nearly as small as the paper towel stuff, but improvements come at a price. Overall, it's great stuff. It's affordable and still packs a lot smaller than most.

;D ;D

My buddy's began leaking in at the seat and then started leaking all over.  Have not seen the new stuff up close all that well, but it does look more like a rain suit & it definitely fits him better.

In warm wet weather, a rain suit is not as important as when it is cool/cold & wet.  Some days we don't bother suiting up - we just ride in it since it cools us off & we are dry in 30 minutes after it stops usually.  Never owned a bike rain suit until I owned a Harley.  Just waited it out or did the old garbage bag jacket deal if it was absolutely necessary.  God bless those gas station attendants & grocery store folks who gave me trash bags back then.

What is the price on the newer version?

You can get it here for about $95

Best rain suit I have ever owned.  They keep us completely dry in the worst of weather which we have a habit of finding.  I agree with Chuck on the drawstring waist though.  I have since threaded a cord through the waist replacing the elastic drawstring and now it's a sure winner.

Florida toad stranglers will soak you seconds...
I pack frog togs and have never used them...
Been soaked lots and rather be wet than sit in my own personal sauna, cause once you put them on the sun comes out and steams you like broccoli.   :D

...nice thing is, you can only get so wet and thats it. ;D

For some reason I left my lowers on for Sedona and found that set up worked great as far as keeping my boots and legs dry. My rain gear took care of the rest. Must be a RG thing. Doc

It's what fills up my left saddlebags on ea. bike, Jock.  A magical outfit that stops rain as soon as you take the time to jump thru the agonizing gyrations that one must endure to don it.  Sometimes.  Not fun but in some instances......survival gear.  :nervous: har!   :drink: spyder

Funny - I store it in the right, do you find it wears better by storing it in the left bag?
