Tuning in the Bucks County PA area...
« on: March 30, 2011, 12:14:09 PM »

I have a 2007 FXSTSSE and it had V&H Big Radius pipes and the HD Race Tuner.  I am adding an Arlen Ness Stage II Air Cleaner and would like to have my bike tuned to accommodate.  I am currently getting a lot of backfires and popping...

Can anyone recommend a good tuner near me?

 Bike Works
25 South Easton Road
Glenside, PA 19038-4621
(215) 885-3633

Never used them for tuning. Have used them for other work always done right and as promised.

Let me know if you use them. I always like to know a good tuner, I have been using Brians HD and more trouble than before I bring the bike in.

I don't know where Bucks County is but you might try GMS Racing Engines (Gregg Dahl)  in Uniontown, Pa.  724-438-0738.

Thanks... I was thinking of going to Brian's HD.  $325 for a tune.... I think I will seek an alternative route....

Thanks for this... I get a great feeling from this shop and the reviews seem very positive.  Its a bit of a ride but I am going to call and set something up with Dave today.

Thanks again to everyone who responded.

Well... may have to rethink using Dave for right now.  I was told that I would have to upgrade my SERT to the newer Master Tune module ($395) and that the tune would cost an additional $450.

I'm sure a good tune is worth it in the long run but money is a little too tight to drop $845 right now.  Might have to go with Brian's HD for this go around.

You can send in your SERT provided it is a real SERT and not a Harley Super Tuner (SEST) for 100.00 to TTS and they will convert it as they were the original manufacturers of the SERT for Harley..    sounds like you may be mis naming your SEST as a SERT.

Nope... its a SERT.  It appears that If it is an older race tune module without the red button it can be updated for $100.00+shipping.  If it is a newer one it cannot be updated.  I am going down to the shop if it ever stops raining and run the program on mine to confirm that it can be updated (mine has no red button).  They also have to confirm that the SERT is matched to my bike and not another one... If it can be updated I am certainly going to ship it out for $100..

Its a hardware update that allows the dongle to work with the newest TTS Software.

I don't know how bad or long you have had this issue but if it were me, I would either wait til I came up with the extra $$ to take it to Dave or try to find the $$ now. Your basically gonna waste $325 plus tax and/or more now than taking it to Dave and having the bike done right. Where you located at? I'm in Bensalem and Buckingham.
