You only live once, as far as I know that is.  So what the heck?  If money is not the issue, go for the SESG.  There is no doubt you will love the new frame.  ABS is a great thing to have too.

I was extremely unhappy when my 05 FLHRCI 103 died in the summer of 09 of the cam bearing desease. And extremely suspicious about the 09 FLHTCUSE4.

1 1/2 years later I would never ever consider going back to a pre 09 touring.

The bike still has neither the hp nor the torque our old 103 had but we are faster by far on her than we were on the old Road King. Better lean angle, no more fear of wobbles, drastically better brakes and the bigger rear tire add all up to a better by far ride over all. Not to forget the little comforts as central locking etc. 

And new toys are always nice btw

Never owned a bagger before so my frame of reference in comparing the two rides is nonexistant.

What I CAN share with you is what was shared with me on this site before I pulled the trigger, the same thing mentioned by a few of the replies above and something you alluded to yourself as well

- If it speaks to you then you've GOT to go with it

That said, conversely, if it's not speaking to you then you cannot even consider it.

Keep looking around and the right on will speak to you.

I had an 08  sg. took the 11 for a rip in Sturgis last year, called the dealer at home as soon as I got off the bike and told them there better be one there when i got home. GO FOR IT you won't regret it. I got the black one but it was a toss up krypto close second.

I would go with your gut. But as everyone here is saying, ride it and you will never look back. I rode a 10 stock SG, I thought it was the best handling bagger I had ever been on. I rode a 11 SESG, no way to go back, I love it. Best handling, best stopping(ABS) bike I have ever been on. I am sure next line of CVO's will be even better. They are all made on the same line now anyway. If you can, ride one. See what you think. I had no intentions of buying a SESG, till I seen one and rode it. Take it easy.
