Screamin Eagle Head inserts
« on: April 03, 2011, 03:34:11 PM »

Does anyone know where I might get a custom set of these logo inserts made to fit in my CVO 110 Heads? I thought I saw a set some where that had a shop name in them and got the Idea to personalize mine.  You know with something that no one else had like say "FACE" & "RACER" :nixweiss:

Thanks in advance for any help I get!!!

Go to a trophy shop with one of the original inserts so they can cut to size.  Making various sized plates for different sized trophies is something they do all the time.

That's what I love about this forum! Someone here has an answer or suggestion that keeps the ball moving down the field. It's amazing how many times it's Twolane!

I've been looking for the same thing for months to cover up that sorry as@ Jim's logo. I tried Twolanes idea, had a trophy shop etch three ? marks, looked o.k. but the backing glue didn't last long. Imachine on the web will laser cut out a thin billit piece but will cost ya about $200! No thanks, I'm still looking like you.  :nixweiss:

Why use just glue?  You've got threaded holes in the heads already.  Use the original holes?

The trophy idea is a good one, however i had something machined and thick like the stock ones in mind. I will want them to screw on like the stock ones also. I have been doing allot of searches and found the ones I saw on a FBI bagger. I am going to contact them and see what they have to offer. Thanks for your suggestions. I will report back my finding for others. In the meantime Any other suggestion or ideas would be great!

The Jim's heads don't have the threaded holes. They actualy machine laser etch their logo into the head, so it's perminite. I tried a little tab of heat gun glue and thought I had it, until the first time the motor got hot....duh,,, I should have known better on that one.  Someone told me to use high temp RTV, which probably would do the trick  :nixweiss:

Could you drill and tap holes?  Not too deep though!

If i could find something decent and within reasonably $$, Yup i could/would drill and tab... I'm hoping this thread will find something decent,, I'v been on the lookout for awhile and everything i find so far is too pricey for my pocket book..
