2010.5 FLHTCUSE5 Uncomfortable Seat
« on: April 04, 2011, 03:49:12 AM »

I have a 2010.5 SEUC5 (Blacked Out - #753) with the most uncomfortable seat you can imagine.  The stock heated seat is without a doubt very dissappointing to me. especially for the amount of money we spent for the bike.  Does anybody have any recommendations on a custom seat?  I am 6'2" and weigh 205 lbs. and my wife is 4'11" and only weighs 86 lbs.  I talked with Mark Hart from Florida and was impressed with our conversation.  I am afraid to spend $1,000 on a seat without weighing all the options.  How are the Day-Long seats?  Does anybody have a seat from Hartco Industries?  Finally I have someone interested in my seat.  I can't find it on the Harley website so I have no idea what it is worth.  Thanks for your help!

I have 2010 limited. Stock seat killed me and wife. Installed MUSTANG seat can ride all day with no regrets. Wide and comfy
Have stock seat that is worthless.

I have a Russell Day-Long on my 09 SERG heated seat works well. I have used these seats since 1985 on all my bikes. My wife once commented the best thing about Harley stock seats is that it only takes one screw to remove it!!! The two sons Bill Mayer and Rick Mayer broke away after their father sold the company and have their own brand seat. I have been still dealing with the original company. You will never be concerned about seat again. I am 6.2 220 lbs wife is 5.4 120ibs. You sacrifice your original seat pan, and need a build date--- find a cheap seat on eBay and send that one in saving your original seat for resale.

Here is your answer to all your seat comfort issues.

My wife and I both hated the seat.
This man knows seats, has put on thousands of miles.   He can refoam your existing or complete custom.

The price was reasonable.

Deuceman2003, Regarding your seat issues I would suggest you go to a upholstery shop and have them reshape, add or remove foam to customize your existing seat for you and your passenger. I did this on my 09SEUC. I retained the comfort I needed and got my feet a little closer to the ground. In my case he removed some of the foam and installed a gel pad , then reinstalled the heater. My passenger did not require any changes. I left the bike at the upholstery shop until he had it shaped and then sat on it before he reinstalled the stock leather. Total cost was a little over $400.00 It seemed like a good alternative to buying another seat. I have a post on here about it with pictures. Good Luck CAHDBIKER (another benefit for me was that I don't have an extra seat to store)
