I'd take it back and tell them to get it right.  And no, they don't "all do that".

Hahaha .... just called them ... huge surprise here:

"Bring it by and we'll look at it, but they ALL bounce around because they are detachable".

What a bunch of freakin' maroons.

I fully understand that eventually the nylon bushings wear or develop flat spots from the constant pounding from the metal mating parts, but I don't think that would be a problem on a brand new bike.  Much more likely that the dealership put something together wrong in TIF2's case, or they got wrong or defective parts.

BTW, when mine got a little loose and noisy, I just turned them 90° and all was well for another couple years.  Then just buy a new set and you're good to go again.  Something about running a chromed piece of steel on a hard metal bushing instead of the nylon just doesn't seem right to me.

Never had an issue with movement, actually mine were always tough to get off and on and fit like a glove.  Sounds like something is not properly mounted.

I was being sarcastic ... it was what I fully expected the boneheads to say.
Just got the bracket on order ... should be here by Friday. I'll mount it up with the SESG2 amp and check for tolerances. I'll PM you with the results Mike. I'm commited with other projects over the weekend but should have results mid next-week.

Appreciate everyone's responses!

It's all mounted properly - it's has to be a tolerance issue with either the retention mechanism on the TP mount or the stock bushings. I have another 4-point dock (in black) so once I dig it out, I'll mic the two bushings. If they mic the same - gotta be the retention mechanism.

Good to know it's just (probably) typical HD BS QA - and that it's not designed to bounce around.
