You'd think if they updated the software in 2011 they'd call it a -11 part rather than a -08B. But just to be clear, the -08B ECM doesn't work at the moment with the Rev Perf EMS? If I could get a model year 2010 ECM at a decent price I'd consider the Ref Perf but not if I have to buy a 2010 ECM even at 20% off. I guess 2-4 weeks isn't that long, if that's what it really is, but I've heard 2-4 weeks from other unnamed tuner makers that turn into 2-4 months...

You should call Revolution Performance to be sure of the details.  All I know from the experience today is that whatever ECM comes stock on 2011 bikes isn't one they're ready to work with yet.  The ECM isn't here so can't tell you the part number off that module.  The options were described as:

1) buy an 08 ECM and use that

or

2) wait "two to four weeks" and they'd have the software completed to work with the stock ECM on the 2011 bike.

I didn't want to wait so I bought the earlier ECM from them and installed it. Brian at Rev Perf even told me that I can send in my '11 ECM and they will program that (when they are ready) and buy back the earlier one that I purchased a few weeks ago.

That's a good way to get that done.  Apparently for the bike here they didn't have another on the shelf to make the same offer.  Though from the quality of service they've offered before I'm confident they would have had it been an option.

Sounds like they either jumped the gun a bit on the 2011s or found a glitch after they thought they were ready.  So this interim solution is in place but (hopefully) won't last long.

In 2011 HD changed the calibration software and the process to program the ECM's. All companies that reprogram the ECM's had to learn the new ways to be able to do 2011 ECM's. Rev is new to the game and it's just taking them a little longer to figure it out. I'm sure they will get there, just give them the time they ask for.

As of late,,Rev is already out with a 2011 product and my understanding they've been testing the 2011 beta several months   :2vrolijk_21:   I think they're right there in the game...  :P

So, reading this thread makes me think that I got the wrong EMS from Rev/Perf.  I ordered one from Jenni at Tri County HD a couple of weeks ago and used a 2011 part number (604-011).  It's for a 2011 SE Road Glide.  Guess I need to call them and check it out?

The EMS product you receive doesn't include an ECM.  You send them yours after you get the package.  They are apparently not quite ready (on the software side of things) to write to the 2011 ECMs as they need to yet though.

OK, thanks Twolanerider.

I'm not quite ready to send mine in yet anyway so I may be alright.  Actually I took the bike/trike out last evening for it's first test ride and even though the trike kit adds about 6 - 8 inches of connector pipe for the exhaust it ran pretty good.  I'm waiting on an "X" pipe and when I get it I will also add the reverse while I have the exhaust off.  In the meantime it goes to the painter so he can match the trike body to the CVO paint scheme.  Also still have to install the EZ Steer (rake kit for the front forks), still a lot to do.

Thanks
Dwight

When the 2011 bikes came out, due to throttle body changes among others, TTS had to redo their software to make it work for the 2011 ECMs, which took a while. Wonder why EMS didn't take that as a clue that they might need to do the same thing. But that's water over the dam at this point.

Have run the T-Max with auto-tune on both my 02 95" and currently on my 07 110".  My experience regarding customer service has been excellent, both on questions regarding maps and a repair which may, or may not, have been a result from something I did.
I know nothing about the newer system referred to but, based on my experience and the ability to tweak the mapping, I would recommend the T-Max.
