Hey,

Haven't really done much to it this winter, this is the only big thing I added.  I am really excited to get these lights on!  I think they will make the bike with all the black that much cooler.  My older brother laughed at me and asked if I wear a suit when I ride.....he's one of those that ride to ride and washes his bike once a year.  Anyway, I get the lights on the 18th, I will post pictures, for those that installed them already, do you have to remove the fairing to change the headlamp?  My bike has the chrome ring, I assume I can still use that until Harley comes out with gloss black trim rings for the auxiliary lamps?

You dont have to remove faring for headlight change.  You can use the chrome rings on all three until you get black ones

:2vrolijk_21:Thanks Wayne, the reason I asked is because you had your fairing sitting on the ground with the hardware pictured.  I hate removing the fairing because you risk the potential stripping the eyelets the more you do it.  Looks fairly cut and dry.

I had the faring off to install new fisheye mirrors, it was an easy picture to show all the parts. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks, so are you saying that we (same bike) need that splitter in order for this LED lamp to work?  That would suck especially if i have to order the part and wait?  Let me know please

hey, another question.  I'm assuming that if we need to change the harness, the fairing needs to be removed, or can you get to the harness from the lamp area?  PS, post a picture when your done

if you have the dual bulb headlight "which we have" your harness looks like this when you remove the lamp and expose the plugs, you do not have to remove the fairing, there is enough slack in the wiring to dam near reach the front fender.
factory one plug is for high beam, one for low. the Led has only one plug both. I beleave the plugs loop to the factory installed garage door opener since its tagged in with the head light wiring. dont have a good wiring diagram to conferm this.

this is the HD part number, for the splitter, CVORick posted this when he converted his and these were the pics that he had, i found this after talking to my dealer and they went sure how to make it work as they haven't installed any on the dual bulb headlight bikes.

SMKBLWR: Thanks for the personal manual, I appreciate the help.  I called the HD dealer after your 1st reply and ordered the splitter.  Lamps come the 18th or 19th, slitter should be in by the 20th?  Still a little cool here and rain in the forecast so I have time...thanks again!  post pics when you get urs hooked up.

Wow, I got my lamps today from Las Vegas HD all the way to Michigan!  Too fricking bad that the local HD dealer has my bike because of my ongoing issue with the hydrallic clutch losing pressure.  I ordered the splitter too, and I think I have to wait until next tuesday or wednesday for that....but if i had my bike i could at least install the passing lamps!   Did anyone else get any from LVHD?

My splitter will be here the 21st, no one local had it so had to get it from HD direct, but my dealer will have my bike Dyno tuning it so looks like i might get mine installed on the 23, but i will post pics when installing.

If that's the case, I may beat you to it and i will post pictures?  Hopefully I will have everything i need, including my bike by the 20th?  It looks like a simple install that will take only about 1/2 hour?
