Somebody want to explain what wattage really means ?

I recently bought a Fender Blues Deluxe (reissue) tube amp for my guitar

It says it's a 60 watt amp and the damn thing will break windows with the volume on 3 (out of 10)

I am confused.

I had the 'NEW' amp installed. Did not even make it out of the dealership parking lot and it was cutting in and out.

Yep......thats the new one.

If the dealer does not get it done when it goes back in this time I too will be going with the J&M.

Question, when i was looking at the 500w kit they did not have any tweeters. Did you keep the original tweeters in the faring?

They want to go over the whole wiring harness. They think there might be a bad wire some place in the harness. :nixweiss:

I'm very unhappy!  I'm on my second amp, and the new one with the new part number doesn't work right!  The first one went out at 300 miles.  The second one went out as soon as it was replaced just prior to my Sturgis trip.  I went 4600 miles with a crappy stereo!!  HD needs to suck it up, and provide for a premium amp!!  I intend to make a big stink for whatever that is worth.  I do not intend to buy aftermarket, and let HD off the hook!  They need to stand behind their product and provide a quality amp/stereo.

After that said, this bike is freaking awesome!!!

My second NEW amp, which will be my 3rd amp on my bike was placed on back order to Oct 14 and now to Nov. 3rd!!!  Hopefully, it will have the "REV A" on the NEW part number.  And hopefully, it is an upgraded amp from the prior junk they have installed!!!  :nixweiss:

I didn't write this very well the 1st time around. I left out the fact that the amp in my H-D stereo system is supposedly 40watts and it wouldn't crack a paper thin piece of ice on a hot day. So what gives in how wattage is listed ?

hmmm. its sort of like torque and horsepower

or steam or diesel or gas

a tube amp - especially a GOOD tube amp will make more sound than any digital anything - along with enough heat to heat the house in the winter.

ic's allow more dense circuits and smaller parts and less heat and waste. but if you want really wonderful sound - tube. some ic amps get nearly as good as tube.

watts in sound has to to with the electrical capacity. not volume of sound, or at least not exactly. the speakers on a bike are made to be durable and water proof - not loud.

i just gave up long ago and listen to the music with the headset and never even turn the stupid speakers on any more.

but id just LOVE to have a tube amp at home.... <grin>
