Twolane. I just went through that process last week. What a pain in the azz. I used a paper clip and a small set of needle nose pliers. If I were to do it again I would remove and reinstall the bars myself, but have a good bike mechanic / shop take care of the rest. Best of luck. kb

Lucky for me, I made that same choice... ::)  :cucumber:

Odd day today.  Many things came up and didn't get back to it.  Will try to make time tomorrow to get the old bars stripped down and get everything threaded back in to the new bars so Travis won't think I'm just slowing things down because that new green bike looks so damn good in the shop.

I don't know, the last time I saw her she was looking pretty naked without the fairing, handlebars, seat, and saddlebags.  Besides, there isn't any great rush, more parts are on the way.  YIPPEE!   :2vrolijk_21:  :cucumber:  I think I will have everything but the ECM by the end of the week.

Connectors are now disassembled.  Things not pulled out of the old bars nor threaded in the new bars yet.  But the connectors are apart.  What else is coming?  As long as it's not as much fun as these Molex connectors I'm up for it!

Found a good trick when I was doing my bars with fishing a pull line through the bars.  Tie a small piece of packing foam or a bit of a packing peanut to a string, stuff the foam into the wire opening at the grip end of the bar.  Put a shop-vac on the center opening (it helps to plug the openings at the other end of the bar).  The vac will suck the foam (and the string) through the bar.  Now you can use the string as your pull line for the wires.  A bit of wire lube also works wonders when pulling the wire bundle.  Those new style connectors are a pain, you have to hold your tongue just right when trying to catch the release with the paperclip.

Lights and pegs and other things light up at night.

Sounds good.  The things on it already look great.  Some very nice changes indeed.  Keep up the theme and she's going to go from being a "looker" to being flat out extravagant.

Ok, just finishing a couple hours at the desk.  Think I'm going to walk across the shop (gawd it's nice having a good computer out here now) and pull wires out of your handlebars.
