fork reflector removal
« on: April 13, 2011, 12:07:24 AM »

ive seen a few SESG that have had the reflectors removed off of the chrome front end.  has anyone done this?  are there any tricks to it?  i've heard wait for a hot day, trim them off with dental floss, and clear away the excess adhesive with "goof-off".

I used a heat gun, fishing line and WD-40 to remove what little was left

I just peeled them off gently ...

No residue left at all .

I used a hair dryer and just warmed them up, peeled them off. A little bug and tar removal cleaned it right up.

IMHO   you would be smart to use a heat gun or hair dyer to soften the adhesive before removing anything sticky!

Too much elbow grease required!  Porta-band or the mini-grinder would be my choice.

Took my reflectors off with the wifes hair dryer, fishing line, Mothers Chrome Polish. Several methods work, they are not hard to remove.
