Placed an order from Zanotti's
« on: May 01, 2006, 10:35:38 PM »

I placed an order from Zanotti's on Friday. On Saturday I received an email letting me know a couple of things were not in stock and would take three to six days to come in. A bit bothered that these common items were not in stock I fired off a return email. Late Saturday afternoon I received a reply. Regardless of what they did or didn't have they were straight up in telling me so and on a Saturday afternoon none the less. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Zanotti's does have some decent pricing. For us PA guys there is no benefit over Chicago HD because of the sales tax. The ship times are a bonus. Since I live so close to the border of Jersey I sent my order to my buddy's work to avoid the sales tax! :-[

I ordered up the automatic chain tensioner, reduced effort clutch, digital temperature dipstick with oil level, a radio trim panel (because I couldn't find the one I had) and a goofy push button for the fuel door. Digging out my key with chaps or rain gear on sucks! :(

Once all the parts show up including the Bakers gear set I should be good to go. Nothing like installing a handful of new parts and than riding the bike 900 miles for a test run. ::)

Considering all orders are different, I ordered my SERT from Zanotti's and they said that it was out of stock and would be 4 weeks. I really didn't care because I needed 1K miles before I was going to install it. It showed up on my door step 9 days later.

That's why I left my order as it was as opposed to canceling it and trying to pick it up elsewhere. I'll check it tomorrow with them to see where they are at. If need be I'll have them send what they have and I'll bite the bullet and pick the other stuff up locally. Usually I wouldn't be so impatient but since the bike will be apart I'd like to install the new parts while I'm in there. Than again it isn't anything that will hold me up or that I can't go back in and install.

That is great customer service [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif], unlike eglidegoodies that does not tell you when items are on backorder >:(! They also do not respond to emails/voicemails. So hats off to Zanotti's ;)!

Still more props for Zanotti's. They emailed me Monday letting me know when the back ordered items would be shipping. Since I'm trying to keep to a schedule I thanked them for their great customer service and canceled my order.

Odd as it may seem to me my local dealer had everything in stock. With the help of a friend who is friends of the owner I scored everything below Zanotti's pricing with the sales tax included. I simply got lucky.

Yeah, I've ordered a bunch of stuff from John at Zanotti's.

He is real good about letting you know what's happening and also (bearing in mind shipping charges to UK) if I ask him to, he will hold on to stuff that's been on back order etc to make up a single shipment with a subsequent order.

I only use Zanotti or M and M (they sometimes have good deals on V&H and Mustang and also have "private" customer appreciation sales.) and don't even consider buying parts at my local  dealer - I let him do the warranty work though...

The UK dealers are going to go out of business if they don't get their act together and start matching prices and service with "your" price and service oriented guys

Cheers

Dave
