I've been told the the CVO Springers came with a red LED fuel gauge as opposed to the standard blue led gauge, which seems to be the only colour in the current catalogue. I've got a 2011 CVO Softail convertible and the blue led fuel gauge clashes with the red instruments, hence my interest in getting a red led fuel gauge.

Any help on this with part numbers will be much appreciated.

I just bought a used 2008 FXSTSSE/2 CVO Softail Springer Screamin Eagle Anniversary Edition and the flush fuel gauge LEDs are indeed RED and not blue.

So to try and help you out I looked at both the 2011 and 2008 HD catalogs and see that the part numbers are different from 2008 to 2011.

In the 2011 catalog the part number is 62823-08A.

Back in 2008 the part number was 62818-08.

Both the catalogs show pictures of the product with BLUE LEDs and offer no color choice to get RED. 

Kind of interesting that my 08 CVO has RED LEDs and RED is not listed in the book.

I think you will have to call a Harley Dealer directly to sort this out to get the part number for the 2008 version in RED LEDs.
