wanting to hear exhaust in person in the midwest
« on: April 21, 2011, 08:41:48 PM »

I'm going to install exhaust to get rid of the cat. Thinking of either a fullsac x-pipe and baffles or gut the cat and fullsac baffles or Fuelmoto x pipe and mufflers or D&D Boss Fat Cat. Anybody around the midwest done these changes to their 110" engine? I'd love to hear them in person if possible. any chance of meeting up with me sometime? Thanks, Rick

Hay Rick, I'm not in KS, sorry, I'm in Calif, but I ordered the D&D 2-1 Fat Cats for my bike and they just arrived today. After the shop gets them installed next week I'll let you know how I like them and can even call you so you at least can hear them on the phone, if that helps.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I Will try and get with Twolanerider to hear his bikes in person sometime.
TwoToes,Please post a report after you get some riding time on them I appreciate the offer of the phone call.
Mal. I see you posted a video clip with a drive by. I hope to watch it an my buddies Box as my connection is to slow (dial up) to view video.
By the way my dealer wants $2800 to install the fatcat, change the ac to a heavy breather, install a street tuner and dyno the bike. It  would keep it under factory warranty but through them them only. They wont provide warr at all if I install parts and let them tune it or if I buy parts online at a discount. So I may have to wait untill the 2 year warr expires and run the bike as is... like riding a oven when the temps above 80 degrees. Or run the risk of having my VIN # black listed. Thanks. Rick

Regardless of who does the installation, your factory 2-year warranty should not be negated!  It can only be recommended that your Harley dealer do all service work.  The only way this work would negate the warranty would be if it was related to the failure of the part you are trying to claim under warranty.  If that were the case, the MOCO would be under no obligation to warranty the part(s) even if your dealer did the work.  See the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

Have a V&H 2x1 with a Fuel Moto PCV with their map. runs great, 38MPG, no heat issues. Pro Pipe Chrome was $475.00, Power Commander was around $300.00 with map. Pipe is a little on the loud side, but you can still hear the stereo. I live in NE OK

He wants $2800 to do what?  I hope you left mowing your yard, washing your cars, and replacing your driveway off that list.

Wolverine, I called Jenni, a discount vendor on this site, and she gave me a quote of 20% off MSRP for the D&D FatCats. My dealer matched the price so I got them from the dealer since they were doing the install. They list for about $1,242, I got them for a little more than $900. I also ordered the ghost pipe for the left side and a ThunderMax auto tuner. Have a CVO Street Glide so didn't need to modify the air intake. The price was just above 2K for everything NOT including labor. The ThunderMax is pricey, lists for about a grand but with the discount about a little less than $800, and no dyno required saving about $400, so its almost a break even deal compared to other tuners, and if you make any other mod no need to re-dyno with the auto tuner.
