When I bought mine, I told my wife it's perfect just the way it is :-*. 5k later and she's ready to kill me. I don't even have the bike yet! ???

Just tell the wife its like buying a new dress. Then you need new shoes to match, and a new purse, jewelery etc. As my friends say, good thing we don't have a drug habit cause we spend all our money on our bikes!

The main argument I had to my wife to justify the higher cost of the CVO over a regular harley was that I would never have to spend anymore money on it as it came fully customized.  Recently, four years later my wife looked me in the eye and said " there just isn't a quitting place " to finding things I want to do to my bike.  All I could do was hang my head low.

Make sure you get rid of the receipts...remember...no trail no jail!!!!!  When your wife notices some thing different, just say, oh no dear that came with the bike...that will only work for a few times....always keep the garage lights out when she is in the garage...

Should start a thread with the best arguments on why it's sensible to invest in a CVO and later new parts.
Could be useful for potential future members waiting to get the green light!  :P

Just buy your wife her own CVO and then you won't have to explain why you need to modify yours. My wife is always looking for ways to continue personalizing her SE Deuce.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has experienced this phenomenon.

I said the same thing to my wife, that I wouldn't need to do anything to the SESG.  She kindly reminds me how much money I have spent on this bike....

I heard it once before, and it's worth repeating.

"The price of the bike is just the entrance fee."

I did actually use the ABS breaks as my main argument on why the only option was a CVO. :P

I spend on safety items only:  for more engine power to be able to escape faster, more bling to be seen better, more pillion comfort for less distractions  :D
