 Buried at sea was the quickest way to dispose of the POS and it would have taken too long to dig a grave deep enough to get rid of the smell!
Now let's get the rest them.

BB, the flip side of that coin is that IF they had kept the body around to figure out where they MIGHT be able to bury it, then the fanatics would be jumping up and down like a shortstop, which they are going to do regardless, so getting rid of it quickly keeps SOME of the uproar to a minimum, plus no country has the piece of chit in their ground.  This way, he's shark meat, and fresh at that...

The Loonies are going to do what they're going to do...all we can do is hunker down and figure out what they may try and kill it before it happens.

There was really no good solution to the problem of what to do with the body, so I personally think the right decision was made, before anybody could say or do anything about it.

I started this thread so those on the site that didn't know, would know that Bin Laden is dead.
Just thinking about those that have lost so much because of this man gives me and hopefully them a sense of relief.
There is a no politics rule on this site.
Moderators will lock this thread if people can't contain themselves and make this thread political.
Me, I'm just glad Bin Laden's dead.
It will be the beginning of closure for many.
Nothing will take away the memories of the loss's we suffered, but I'm glad Bin Laden is dead and that is a good start.

I think we can keep this out of the political realm...I'm just thrilled that the worthless POS is off the planet...there's a lot more out there, but at least there's one less.  And his oldest son as well.  Last I heard, they had four other family members in custody?

The head is gone, the body survives but with time even the body will have trouble functioning.
And that's a good thing.
The international markets seem to be liking the news.

This is one of those topics that you cannot discuss without some political overtones. As such, our moderators (whom by the way I commend of late for doing an excellent job) have two choices. Either let the thread run it's course or delete it from the get go. There is no in between.
     

 One thing that for me is significant in OBL's death is that his followers treated him as Godlike. The fact that we were unable to track him down and kill him for 10 years only added to the myth of that. Now that he's dead, they can't subscribe to the theory of him being a Mesiah of Islam. What that should translate into is Al Queda becoming a tangle of splinter groups with various OBL wannabees trying to position themselves as the new and rightful leader of the movement. In the long run that should render them less of a threat and more vunerable to US intelligence sources breaking individual cells. In the interim, we're most likely susceptible to the types of attacks that OBL would not have greenlighted. So short term we need to be more vigilant than ever, long term, we've cut off the head of the serpant and the body eventually will die - - to be replaced no doubt by another but one not as large, well organized nor as effective.

I hope he is dead and choose to believe it. We take an awful lot on faith these days and seeing is not always believing.

Family in custody? The guns should have blazed on till all was silent. I am somewhat concerned that it took 10 years to get him.  We should have put the IRS on him they could have had him in three.

I heard from a good source, The Pool Boy, that the reason the Endeavor launch was delayed is that they are waiting on Osama's body. Not buried at sea but in deep space.
Now only if The Pool Boy got it right!
