Can I add a pager to my FLHXSE2
« on: May 06, 2011, 11:12:45 AM »

Seems like a read somewhere on here that our alarm isn't set up for a pager? I pulled a Smart Siren II from my '09 before I sold it. It was located under the left side panel, do we have a module there now? Sorry, I am at work and can't look at my bike, just started thinking about it.

Thanks!!

Do you wear a suit and tie when you ride too?  :2vrolijk_21:

Ha.....I had to use that line.  That's what my older brother said to me cuz of all the crap and technology on my bike!

Now that was some funny chit right there! :2vrolijk_21:

It took me six months before I learned that our security system had an alarm hooked to it. :nixweiss:    I was used to hearing the chrip or chirp/chrip on my 04 SEEG but nothing on the SESG.  Till I went out to the garage and left my keys in the house and went to move my bike over.  The alarm went off and actually startled me because it was really quiet in my garage and I didn't know I had the alarm. :)

Make sure you use the velcro for the antenna so that the antenna does not touch the frame of the bike.

When I got the pager i spent about 30 min. trying to mate it the the siren. I took the pager back to the dealer and they gave me a new one. After about another hour i started to second guess myself....do i know how to follow instructions? Went back to the dealer and asked them to mate it for me. At that point we realized that the 2011 comes with the Smart Siren 1 and the SS2 is required....ish. The gave me 20% off for my troubles and it works fine but what i noticed was that the plastic hooks that hold the siren into place did not hold it tight. I guess they stretched from the re and re. I put some 2 way tape on the back side to hold it into place. The other thing i notice was that the Smart Siren 2 already comes programed to chirp when the bike is turned off.
