I started with the Hog Tunes, big improvement over stock. Then I went with the Hawg Wired and a few amps, huge improvement. Then I went with another amp (4 amps = 750 watts) and two more Focal speakers (now 6 speakers). Awesome sound, crystal clear at 140 - 150 Km/h. You should try it, or just try the Hog Tunes, your choice  :nixweiss:

Anyone come up with some good speakers that you can "ENJOY" listening to while rolling down the biways of america ??

Never ask an open ended question like that on this blog.  You will be getting at least 4-5 pages of opinions.....like mine.  Forgot to see what kind of bike you have, but I love my music when I ride, drive, cut the grass, whatever.  I have an upgrade from the stock CVO speakers, well known brand that is popular to the site, my stock amp and I'm good to go.  At 80MPH and a loud exhaust system, you can spend a ton of $$$$ and i'm sure it will sound good, but your still competing with wind, exhaust, and everything else worth listening to.  Get some good music, good sound, and enjoy the ride.  Save the $$$ and get yourself a kick butt home system or something for your car where you can appreciate the fidelity.  If money don't matter....then have at it!  Welcome to the site

Thanks for the advise. I really don’t know much about blogging and have a hard time navigating. I’m an x sound man and have akll studio quality stuff at the house. STEREO!! A pair of Klispch and a $2400 sub for quality very low thunder bass. Can’t listen to noise on a bad system. While I have had several bikes with sound I have put maybe 100 miles on the sound. The pipes sound just fine. Music to my ears.I have a new CVO Road Glide. You didn’t say what speakers you have. Is that all you changed? Money is always a concern, but I will not by junk. I will save and wait till I can do it right. I will listen to knowledgeable people. I don’t waste money. There is no bass on motorcycle systems and the only way to get it is with quality. Have you heard the travel trunk bass port? Thanks. Safe travels.

I have Hawg Wired and they are great people to deal with.  Those and the stock amp did the job for me, but again as I said, my pipes are really loud.  I run Rinehart trues with the performance baffles.  I can hear the music and I am good with the quality all things considered and I am a music freak.  Someone told me about a bass reflect that can go under your seat that gives you the sound and feel of bass reflex.  I haven't heard about the tube system Boom Audio offers.  I know there has been a few blogs about the install, but i can't remember anyone saying anything about the sound.  It makes sense?  Back to the music.  I spent $360 for the speakers, I guess you can upgrade the quality of the amp which would cost another $1,000.  I've seen people install the speakers in their lower fairings.  I know the speakers are pointed toward the rider and I sure it sounds better, but I have not heard the system in person.  Besides that as you well know, a motorcycle going 80MPH down a highway is the furthest thing from acoustically designed perfection....I don't have the thousands to spend just to have it and justify the quality?  I would if I had thought it would make that big of difference other than jamming when the bike is parked.  Good Luck....sounds like you got your checkbook out already.  Thats what makes it fun!

I thank you for taking the time to type and share. NO my checkbook is left in my desk draw. Have to many other things that HAVE to be done and I am medically retired. As you say; a bagger isn’t acoustically anywhere. I prefer the purr of the exhaust and a twist of the throttle to change tunes. We do have a few long boring stretches where you need something else, so I do just want to make it so I can play a few songs and not just turn up the noise. I have the 110 and put Reinhardt’s 2-1-2 with a Vance and Hines header; then had it dynode. This system does better than the true duals on this engine. Thanks again. Keep the shinny side up. If you get out this way yell when you go by. (:>)

Check out Yaffe and the Fosgates he offers at this link. http://www.baggernation.com/products-stereo.htm

Heard them in Daytona & they were the BEST speakers we heard, amped or not.  Price point is less than others, too.

Or get a pair of good waterproof speakers from a marine supply house.  I had Hawg Wired on my last Ultra & they were great but when you figure the cost of the amp & the speakers the upgrade was not worth the $$ to me since as others posted, 80 mph doesn't lend itself to sonic ambience.

Or, get a GREAT set of in helmet speakers like J & M offers.  Stock HD headsets suck worse than their speakers do.
