Old Fort Sumner Museum and Tourist Trap - Home of the Authentic Grave Site of Billy The Kid (at least according to the sign).

Ever since Billy's original/official replica? tombstone was stolen there's been this iron cage around the burial site. The tombstone was recovered and so you see extra girders around it as well as the temporary replacement tombstone. For more lore/fact - http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2169

The 3.5 miles from US60 to Old Ft. Sumner is about the most green I've seen in NM so far this year. The balance of the ride was open plains, brown and desolate until I hit I-40 at Cline Corners. I had to compete with the thick flow of 18-wheelers, cars and campers that were running I-40 as if they were heading for upstream spawning grounds. I'm happy I took the road less traveled on the way back as the last 55 miles required too much attention to the traffic.

537.1 miles, 14 hours 3 minutes, a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions, chili cheese fries a glass of tea, a meal with a CVO friend who rode a little farther and lots of smiles. It was a good day.

The ride out was complete with lots of wind from all directions for the first 150 miles or so. Had to work at catching up and keeping up with the lowrider.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

This firefighter and his woman liked Simon's bike a lot. She was a very interesting person had been riding her own for a couple of years. You should go back to the build thread on Simon's bike I learned that the graphics (pics) on his bike were taken from photographs he had taken himself while on rides made it look even more awesome. The pics onsite do not do the bike justice it is much more awesome in person.

On the way home I came out of the store after paying for fuel and a gentleman had engaged D in converstion not so sure what he was interested N but when I walked up he asked if we were going to the Rumble and Cruise which as it turned out was a vehicle event that included showing, cruising, burnouts, food, music so we stopped for a while. This thing was really quick.
