any leg room reduction with heavy breather kit?
« on: May 10, 2011, 10:08:02 AM »

Just trying to consider some of the "other factors" with this mod.  Yes, I've seen the pictures and read about the changes in performance.

Looking for feedback from those who actually have the heavy breather kit.

Any regrets with going with the HB?

Thanks in advance.

dereck, I don't think you're going to see any difference in performance.  You already have a high flow air cleaner in your stock air cleaner.  Just be a waste of money for you. :nixweiss:

I made an assumption that if he was asking a question about a heavy breather that it would be because he's wanting to increase performance.  I suppose somebody could think that thing is attractive. :nixweiss:  It certainly gave him something to think about anyway.

A Harley isn't designed for comfort and all the money I've spent trying to get it comfortable (Corbin, bars, etc.) sure hasn't been a waste.  That could lend to why my 2010 has 30k miles on the clock. :P

I ride a bike equipped from the MoCo with one, and at 6'-4" with a 34" inseam on a Dyna - I never even bump it.
YMMV

Dereck,I ride my buddies 09 SERG that has  a HB on it from time to time. I'm kinda on the short side and it doesn't bother me at all. He's a member here also and lives up by Worth HD north. I imaging he'd let you sit on his bike sometime and try it. He'd be interested in seeing yours I'm sure. PM me and I'll get a hold of him and see if we can make it happen. Rick

Thanks for all the replies related to leg room.  Actually a pretty high percentage of replies reference the subject compared to most post on this forum!

wolverine, I live less than 12 miles from Worth and stop by there often.  I'll be there on Thursday for the free Gretchen Wilson concert.  Unless my exhaust order comes in early, need to get that done ASAP.

I clearenced on to fit on the HPPI intake on my 01, the only issue was that I had to remove the glove box from the right lower if I want to run it.

I think he would to run the compact heavy breather on a 11 SG. The tuner I spoke to said the HB will give better intake of air than the ventilator.
Dereck, I can't make it but my buddy might he's like 5 miles away. He meet Gretchen Wilson last year outside a bar here in KC. she was smoking out there. He said he talked to her about 5 min and she seemed really nice. So he'll probably be there. Rick

Im thinking about a compact heaVY breather for my 2011 SE Street Glide.  Does anyone have a foto of one?  Will there be enough clearance for the speaker?

Just installed the HD Heavy Breather on my 2011 SESG and no issues with leg room. I had already removed my lower faring so I went with the longer tube as I liked the look better... Will get some pictures down loaded tonight.....
