New trailer
« on: May 11, 2011, 10:57:11 AM »

Some of you remember that I made Jade, my yellow lab a trailer from her crate...it was crude but functional .....but I has some stop to tell me that I should be ashamed to trailer that crude looking trailer behind a CVO.......

So I made a jig out of plywood with the shape that I wanted and using screws and epoxy, I started saying up a new trailer for Jade

Then I glassed the foam with epoxy and after it hardened, removed it from the jig

After you glass everything you have to start fairing.

This is the time consuming part of the project. Remember wax on..wax off..........well it is proseal on....proseal off.... :huepfenlol2:

I was going to make the frame for the trailer but Harbor Freight had a 40x48" trailer on sale for $129. I used one of the 20% off coupons that I found in a magazine.

One good thing about the HF trailer is that it includes everything even a Certificate of Origin that makes getting a title easy

One bad thing is that the bearings are an off the wall size and no one makes parts for them

Instead of bolting the trailer together I welded it together, ground down the welds, sand blasted, primed :cherry:, and painted it red.  That is what Kathy wanted

Tried the fenders that came with the trailer package
