2011 CVO UTRA CLASSIC SEAT PROBLEMS
« on: May 14, 2011, 07:43:46 AM »

Has anyone had a problem with the 2011 FLHTCUSE6  hammock seat seperating from the stitching? Mine has some white showing @ the stitching. I'm waiting for a response from the MOCO. I have 3600 miles on it &  I hope that they will replace it

Nothing yet, only 2500 so far.

Seat it self is great  But the heat stayed on all the time when i was ridding,
I didn't notice this but they found it on the 1000 mile checkup
two weeks later i had a new seat. this one fills like it has more padding
and if found after i move the back seat back one hole. this is a very nice saddle :)

Did the MOCO warranty the seat or am I going to have to fight with them. I hope that since I have 45K in this bike they will replace it without a hassle. I would appreciate any input on this.

Thanks,

That makes me feel confident they will replace it. It has been a little over a week since the dealer sent in the pics of it. What kind of issues issues did you have to fight over? I haven't had to deal with the MOCO as I haven't bought a new Harley since 1982. I've been riding the same 89FLT for 20 years. She is a good one!

My dealer replaced my 09 cvo uc when the stitching near the front tore, and just last week is doing the same with my 10 cvo uc all under warranty. The service manager told me the moco would only replace it if it's within the 2 yr warranty and if you are relying on the extended warranty they'll tell you to pound salt.

After 2 years they would probably consider it a "normal wear and tear" item.  Hope you get the seat taken care of.

Danner55,
Keep us posted on how you go...  And when I saw you wrote 45k, I was shocked... K means thousand, after re-reading your first post I realize you mean 4500 miles....  45k would mean 45,000 miles and I was going to say YOU LEGEND YOU, 45,000 MILES ON A 2011 !!!!!  LEGEND STATUS... !    :bananarock: heh he, but then I re read the post and realized yea right, 4500....  I have about 6500 kms on my 2011 so you have me beat by a bit...

Good luck with the seat.  So far I have found HD has a great deal of reputation for doing the right thing if there is anything wrong with the gear.  At least it is that way in Australia, if it is defective and not abused, then NO QUESTION, HERE IS A NEW ONE... Good on you HD Australia, charge through the roof, but at least you off fair to good Service...  :2vrolijk_21:

Hey Cowboy2,

I guess I didn't word it right! I have $45,000 in BIG RED, & I have put 3600 miles on her. She is a great Scoot.  I just finished installing  a Fulsac headpipe & 2" baffles & K&N air filter on last week. It made a big difference in the way she runs. I had a race tuner installed  & Dyno before I picked up BIG RED. 83.53 hp @ 102.18 tq.  After the header , baffles, & air filter, NOW,  87.65 hp. & 107.40 tq.

I hope they replace the seat without a hassle.

You should be getting excited about BIG BLUE. Your delivery date should be getting close. Maybe a week?

Keep us posted on BIG BLUE!

Just noticed the seat on my 2010 is starting to separate at the seems in the front. Guess I get to see if they'll take care of mine now. Looks like te bottom part thats separating is made out of some cheap a$$ thin crap.

My 2010 Hammock is tearing at the front.  Yeah, cheap a$$ stuff.  17 months and 35K miles - been tearing for about 10K miles tho.

Details on warranty replacement please, as my dealer said "didn't think so" although they have been great about any other warranty niggles.  This includes replacing both shocks without even telling me.

You'd think for what these cost they could use all leather on the seat instead of the thin vinyl crap. But then again after seeing some of the other problems people have had with these bikes I should consider myself lucky this is the only real thing I have to bitch about.

I also had a small separation of the stitching at the nose of the seat of my 2010 SEUC at about 1500 miles. Dealer replaced it with a new heated seat without any issue. I now have 15,000 miles on the new seat and there have been no issues.
