Jim, sorry to hear about your SERG! You can always buy another bike...but you can't buy character, honesty. We got your back. If we can help let us know. No need to stop logging into the site.  Arland

Very well said....I concur 110%.....and agree with Jim on his stance as well...

From one Squid to another(I was really an Airdale), you did good. Good luck on a better job. Many people from the US take freedom for granted. They don't owe me anything, I did it for my Country & my Family. No matter your political views.......people that served deserve respect.

Sorry to hear about your job loss... and having to sell the bike. Truly sucks. BTW... THANKS for your service to our country. :) I've worked for a Navy contractor for over 20 years so I have a special respect for those who serve on... and below the water.

Hopefully a new job will come along soon. Best of luck to you.

I sold my 11 SERG today.  No income since I lost my job on TUE.  // I'm no babe in the woods - pretty long in the tooth -- but I will not work for liars and I cannot tolerate anyone who will not put the warfighter first.  I know I'm not alone.  I'll find another job.  But the warfighter must be first -- not political gains.  // I'll likely be off the site for a bit.  Good people here.  Jim

damn Jim, sorry to hear that...it was great to meet you earlier this year...PM me, what are you looking for? GS or Contract?

Damn good people on this site -- damn good.  It has been a pretty good week with 2 other agencies reaching out to me; they know my work and ethics.  Even with strong interest, it will take time though.  I'm going to make it.  I'm also going to remember that 19 year old kids are being killed, wounded and maimed.  My problems are NOTHING compared to that.  // I'll have another bike - likely not a CVO right away, but I will ride again.  Your friend, Jimbo

Suggestion:

There are a lot of Vets here who are employed in virtually every field and at all levels in the companies.

Why don't you let us know what type of jobs you are interested in and if you are open to relocating.

For example, I lived and went to school up your way for years and now live in Jacksonville, FL.

NAS Mayport and NAS Jacksonville are here along with Craig Field. They are ramping up several avation projects here as is Northrup Grumman in St. Augustine with the revamped "Screw Tops".

There are also several maintenance/refurbishment projects starting up at Craig Field.

We're here to help.

Regards

Jim, as a vet of 27 years service I salute you.  I would be more than happy to hire someone who quit or lost a job for your reasons.  You have the qualities of an employee that employers can only dream about... ethical and with a backbone.. thought those were like the unicorn... long gone

all the best, it will work out, and now you have lined yourself upfor a new 2012 :D

And we have yet another example of the genuinely good people on this site.  Jerry, I'm finalizing my resume into different formats; one pager, detailed, etc.  My goal is to finish out the few years I have to do to finish my USG retirement time.  By mid June I will know if that option is going to move quick enough.  If it looks to be stalling, I'll start hitting the commercial options.  I have "current tickets" which makes me pretty marketable in the DC area - I think.  YOU ALL HAVE NO IDEA HOW COMFORTING IT IS TO HEAR POSITIVE WORDS AND TO SEE A WILLINGNESS TO HELP.  Your friend, Jim
