Dave, sincerest sympathies from my wife and I. We'll remember you and your family in our prayers. Losing a Mom or Dad is really tough.

Dave,

Sorry to hear that your father has passed and you know you will see him soon enough. I agree with Big Brian in that we should thank you for making us think about who we need to spend time with while we have them.  Thanks again and take care.

mdduce,
It's tough losing a parent. Remember the good times and all the things your mom taught you. They live on forever in our hearts.

Dave:  Sorry to hear about the final chapter but the mention of the reunion in Heaven makes me remember how my sister, mother and I believed that my Dad was reunited with his father and brother on December 14, 1995 when he passed.  Made for a joyous image.  I believe things like that are true.

Mdduce:  My sympathies to you in the loss of your mother.  I lost mine on September 1, 2002.  Interesting how this thread is becoming one of outpouring, comfort and solace from otherwise strangers.  As someone else said, sometimes there is purpose in suffering.  Making all of us here appreciate those fine folks in our families is certainly a noble purpose.

I've said it before: Better go call or visit those old folks now while they're still around, because one day they won't be, and it will really surprise you to find how much you wish you could her their voices again.

Oh, and Firedood:  You went to a Senators game?  Man, you must be as old as I am. ;D  Was your first car a Studebaker or a Henry J?

A little comic relief, there.

Sorry to hear of your loss.  I lost my first wife in 1994 and my dad in 1996.  There's not been a day go by that they're not on my mind.  I'll pray for you man.  Ride safe.

Now that you mention the first car thing. My family did own a four door Studebaker, and hold on to your hat..... You ready for this.... We also owned an Edsel station wagon! [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

And yes, I guess I am old.
