Lower RPM's
« on: May 15, 2011, 03:09:46 PM »

I recently purchased a 2004 SEEG. I simply love the 103 power compared to the 88's and 95's that I have owned. I thought it was strange that I am running about 2300 rpms at 60 mph. Is it the gearing in the SEEG or just the 103 that does this?
Thanks

Assuming everything is still stock (gearing, tire sizes), 60 mph should equate to 2471 rpm (RPM X .02428 = MPH) in 5th gear.  The difference relative to earlier models is due to a change in the primary gear ratio, which results in a change to the overall gear ratio in top gear from 3.37:1 for the older models to 3.15:1 for your 2004.
