I guess there are no problems out there, or most cvo owners think the ipod interface is working great but you check the differance in volume from aux to interface its almost half the volume. i'm going to let the dealer deal with it or give me my 400. back.

:D :D :D :D  YEAH, I'M NOT THE ONLY FRUSTRATED IDIOT THAT HAS HAD THEIR FAIRING OFF 4 TIMES TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE IPOD INTERFACE VOLUME SUCKS ISSUE!  I WAS BEGINNING TO BELIEVE THE I WAS BEYOND MECHANICALLY CHALLENGED AND JUST PLAIN STUPID.  SORRY PAL, BUT I'M GLAD TO HEAR YOU ARE HAVING THE PROBLEM TOO!

Now, maybe we can figure out a solution together?  You have radio, and cd volume correct?  Along with that, your Ipod kicks butt when plugged into the auxilary plug correct?  I was thinking maybe we need to check every single pin in the 35 pin connector to the radio with the proper tool to make sure they are all 100% in the slot with a full connection.  I have heard by several people that the slightest weakness will cause problems?  Other than that, I have no clue on what to do next.  This is my last hope?  I'm checking into maybe a different power amp specific to run the front speakers?  I have noticed that the rear speakers are louder (Ipod interface) than the front.  Again, it may be those din pins?  Let me know if you find a fix, I will do the same.

The only thing I can think of is the instructions you used.  I was an early adopter of the iPod interface and had June instructions.  I was very disappointed in the left/right separation as well as the volume.  Then guys started talking about the revision with the pin changes.  There is a September instruction revision that changes two wires.  I'm thinking it was 19 and 31, but I'm sure I'm wrong, but after I made the swap, the iPod interface was a stout as the other audio functions on the radio.

If you have the correct wiring on the wires per the September instructions, I cannot offer any other advise.

Good luck.

When I ordered mine a few months ago from lshd1,I was told that they were having issues with the iPod interface and the "fixed" ones were on back order. I was advised to wait for them and not to buy one elsewhere because dealers had them available, and any that were available may have issues.

I'm not sure but I think the new ones became available towards the end of March. I'm not sure if any of this was true, but I waited and had no issues with the install and it works great.

Damm glad I'm not the only one, I've gone throu all the wiring many times, everything works great but ipod interface. I have a 500 w amp in the front fairing, the 2nd module was  pulled out of a kit. It might be bad too. I ordered a replacement module and they told me mid June and the same backorder.

I just got mine earlier this month.  How do you know if its an updated unit or not?   I guess if the volume is lower that would be the first clue?

Any possibility of verifying the wire switch.  Is there somewhere you can find a bulletin or something?  I hear the DINs are a bioch to get out without ruining them.  I don't want to try something that doesn't have a high probability of working.  Kind of sucks to spend $400 for the convenience and end up using your aux plug because you lose the sound?

See this post about pin 19 & 31

http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=59215.0
I don't have a nim installed so 19 and 31 are not used. my instructions already show the tn/be and v/gy in the right connector.

Ok, I am lost.  I read that looonng post and now i am even more confused.  I have a 2010 FLTHCUSE with the Zuma 660.  I haven't gotten as far as the nav interruption or bluetooth.  Right now, I am just trying to get my $400 interface to play at the same volume as the Ipod plugged into the auxiliary.  Once I get that fixed, I will worry about the other stuff I guess?  I bought my unit earler this month from Grand Rapids HD, they had one in stock, everyone else was back ordered.  I installed it according to the instructions.  The only confusion was with the bluetooth module which i don't think I have.
