IS THE 2011 FLHXSE2 A LEMON?

I'm starting to wonder

1) 0 miles and the clutch master cylinder starts spraying fluid on the left mirror, dealer tells me it's extra grease on the pivot pin. Must be a lot of grease 'cuz a 800 miles its still spraying the mirror.

2) 700 miles and the radio amp dies and we all know there's none to be had till 5/27 and I wonder if that a real date.

3) 800 miles and the right tail lamp goes dead and it seems like they might be on back order too.

I wonder what if anything will fail next?  :soapbox: >:( :nixweiss:

Damn! I just got through with this taillight thing. Same side as yours . Took two weeks to get the part but it is done now. Everything else works great though so far.

there are 2 black and crimson FLHXSE2s at my local dealership right now.  both have the clutch issue.  i just picked mine up yesterday after noticing that the front brake master cylinder was leaking fluid dow my lower fairing.

Are you sure it is spraying? Mine did the same thing after 1000 miles & it was really the top cover needed to be removed wiped clean & tightened, mine was over full, has been fine for about 2000 more miles no issues. The dealer told me the same thing they told you.

So far so good for me (knock on wood) I just had a bad tail light which was replaced. I have almost 5000 km. Did 700 km on Sat. The motor sounds better now that it's broken in and shifting is also better. Finding neutral is still a little stiff. Hopfull that gets worked in with time too.

I hear ya, maybe now that Polaris has purchased Indian there might be an option. Right now things don't look to good for HD quality.

Harley quality hasn't exactly "looked good" in a very long time, it just seems that it has taken a further turn for the worst in the past few years as the leadership has embraced the "cheap is good" philosophy in all things they do.

BTW, doesn't matter if the fluid is seeping out at the cover gasket, or blowing past the plunger seal, or coming from a loose banjo fitting, it isn't supposed to be on the outside, period.  Any dumbazz at a dealership who can't tell the difference between grease and brake fluid has no business discussing anything mechanical.  Find someone with at least half a brain at that dealership.  Or maybe you might want to have the original guy do a taste test.  Tell him to taste the stuff coming out of the clutch, then taste the stuff in the brake master cylinder.  If it tastes the same, maybe he can figure it out from there. :nixweiss: 

Be aware that the DOT4 brake fluid in the clutch system will damage paint.  Continuing to ride with fluid coming out isn't a great idea for several reasons, but having your paint ruined is one that no one seems to have thought much about so far in this thread.  Just thought I'd mention it.

At 1,700 miles a rocker arm support broke.  Other than that, the bike is still running strong at 7,000 miles with no other issues.  Getting ready for a 4,500 mile road trip in three weeks.
