it replaces the "hockey puck" latches on police saddle bags, would not work with normal lids

Damn, those are nice and only $70 ? Makes me wish I had cop bags . They look a hell of lot easier to use than the stock bend, tuck, fold, tuck, bend @#$#@#$!@##$)*(_    stock setups

If they had a keylock integrated that could be matched to the bike key they would be perfect.  ;)

just regular hinges on the outside edge, and there is a barrell lock on the back edge

That sure looks like a simpler system that the Houdini system on the standard bags.  Wonder why there are two systems.  Must be a reason.  Anybody know it? [smiley=confused.gif]

my guess is that the "police" style is eaiser/faster to operate but ours looks nicer

I always thought it was so the bags could be opened with the rider on the bike - not sure why you would want to though...
