2 bikes wobble together.
« on: May 23, 2011, 03:24:34 PM »

Just got back from a ride with some buddies. 2 guys on the ride have street glides with 21" front wheels. Riding down the road they both went to pass another rider. Doing about 90 mph, both had the front end wobble. The one thing they noticed was there was a strong cross wind. Looking for anyone that may have this problem?

wonder what mfg. of 21" wheel and if they "test" the wheels.  Most aftermarket folks do little testing other than make sure it fits.
your buddies are very fortunate.

Not sure if it has as much to do with their wheels as the neck bearings and fall away.

You must be implying that I don't ride at speed since I've rode in strong crosswinds all over this country and I've been on a fairing bike for many years. :huepfenlol2:   See you guys.......I keep telling you I don't ride that fast. :2vrolijk_21:

Part one: don't do ninety mph.

Parrt two: get rid of those ugly ass twenty-one inch wheels.

I have done 120 MPH on my bike & I dont have a front end wobble.

The most I have ever coaxed out of a HD is 112 on a Road King.  I could only get about 105 out of an E-Glide.

Gotta be the wheels and tires along with the neck bearings as JC said.. I have 16" wheels and Metzler tires and 90-100 mph in winds make no difference on my bike.. I thought the Road Glides were prone to this "wobble" thing anyway, :nixweiss:

I believe the 'wobble' that shows up on the Road Glides happens during deacceleration around 40-50 mph with the hands off the bars.  At least that's the most common description I've seen in the various forums.  I've not seen anyone complaining about a high speed wobble on the Road Glide.
