I just had my brakes replaced while I was in for the 20,00 mile service and they were $54.95 (41852-08A) and $49.95 (41854-08) per set. I thought they were real expensive until I looked at Lyndall's price of $49.00 plus shipping.

Am I missing something here ?

Depends.  Are you just looking for cheaper parts, or are you looking for better parts?  If all you want is cheaper parts, you can find plenty of $30 brake pads from folks like EBC.  While not always true, you often get what you pay for.

The Lyndall pads are sold by many online stores at a discount, and some of those like Eastern Performance also have free shipping and you pay no tax if you are out of state.  If I remember correctly, back when I bought my last set I paid just under $120 for three sets, with no shipping charges.

BTW, in case you didn't know, the reason one of those sets of pads from Harley cost $5 more than the other one is that they threw in a isolating material you apply to the back of the pad to reduce the squeal they had on the rear brakes when the current calipers were introduced in '08.  So far the folks who switched to Lyndall's haven't indicated any need for similar bandaids.

How about a discount for the fellas? I would say that 80% of us use them and as you can see from this thread as well as many others, we always promote your product.

Just thought I would ask...

When it comes to brakes, I'm not after the cheap stuff. My first concern is stopping power and then making sure they're not hard enough to destroy the rotors. When I checked Eastern Performance, their price wasn't much less than what I paid for Harley brakes and that's what prompted my question.

Everyone here seems very happy with the Lyndall's and they're offering us a discount so you can't beat that ! I'll definitely try them the next time.

How many miles are you getting out of a set of these ?

Lyndall Racing Brakes pads  are of the Carbon-Kevlar variety. What makes Lyndall's pads unique is they contain a premium blend of DuPont Carbon-Kevlar, nonferrous metal and have a high transfer rate. Once the pad material has transferred a layer to the rotor, the rotor effectively becomes one big brake pad, stopping against the two smaller brake pads positioned in the caliper. The Result: incredible STOPPING POWER, NO DUST, NO NOISE, NO DRAG, NO MEASUREABLE ROTOR WEAR, and the HIGHEST SERVICE LIFE of any brake pad on the market.

Which pads should you use on your motorcycle?

If you are running stock tires, stock chasis and your bike is set up for stock horsepower then you should use the Z Plus pads, as they will provide as much stopping torque as the stock tires and suspension can effectively manage. The Z Plus pads will provide a noticeable upgrade to the stopping power over the stock pads.

If you are running aftermarket tires, high performance engine, have tuned your chassis (i.e. Gold emulator valves, upgraded shocks, etc.), or ride with alot of gear or passeengers on your bike, we reccomend the GOLD PLUS compound as it is better designed to provide the most stopping power under any riding conditions.

Do the Z plus pads work this way with the transference of material to layer the rotor or just the racing Gold pads?  And if so, should I not scrub my rotors clean when washing the scooter?  :nixweiss: spyder
