Bike was supposed to ship on May 11th (Black/Crimson)...just got off the phone with the dealer and it's going to be June 1   ...dealer said it was due to the paint issue being corrected and new process. So all you guys who have paint problems are keeping me from getting my bike on time!!!   Seriously, I'm glad this is getting resolved for everyone.  Hell, I've waited this long, I guess a few more weeks won't matter, particularly if the paint will be right.  Sure does screw up my Memorial Day plans though.  Well, there's some consolation....I'm picking up an '05 Ducati in the morning...see New Toy in Other Topics.   [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Sure was looking forward to picking the Harley up next weekend though...life's a biach and then you die. [smiley=disappointed.gif]

I'll make you feel better, I put a $2,000 deposite with my order for a Charcoal Chrism and was supposed to take delivery in October.....finally took delivery in March of this year.

It was worth the wait...make sure you check the paint on the bike, look for any gaps on the Tour Pack, check that the heated seat and grips work, the rider back rest material will move with the back rest when pushed forward.

Paint is the major issue...make a point at delivery if is all is not right ot you may be alone in the future.  I still have not heard back from HD after dealer sent in pictures.

I did notice one other major issue....the right saddle bag lid has a paint chip in it round in nature right at the hinge point...looks like the hinge contacted the lid and chipped the paint...dealer will probably have to replace the lid.

I rode Friday night for five hours...great ride...this bike really performs....cross between a wild mustang and a Cadillac...when you ride or pull into a dealership most people cannot figure out right away what you're riding.

Thanks Napalm....I'll be sure and check all those things out carefully, particularly the paint issues. It may be kinda hard to tell about the heated features as it will problaby be 90 degrees by then in Mobile (250 miles south of here)    It will be hard for me to walk away from this bike if the paint's not right, but I will if I have to.  I've been waiting a lot of years to be able to get to a point to buy a HD like this...I'm not a rich guy, and just got in a financial position to be able to spend this kind of money on a bike. Can't wait!!!
