2011 CVO Ultra Classic, Tune, Head Pipe and Tips ????
« on: June 01, 2011, 09:43:49 AM »

Hello,

I recently purchased a 2011 CVO Ultra Classic. I want to remove the CAT and add a Tuner and Screamin Eagle Tips.

Here is my question: I was quoted that the Vance & Hines Dresser Duels, SE Slip-on's and SE Tuner will all work great together, now the dealer is
saying that combination is not tunable with the Dresser Duels. Does anyone have this combination?

I have already purchased the parts and have the SE Tips on te stock head pipe and it sounds better, but it still need a tune and remove the heat from the CAT area.

If not, what are you using and having success with ?

Thanks,

The issue with most V&H pipes is poor placement and installation of the O2 bungs. This causes the ECM to get faulty data from the sensors. This is NOT an ECM or sensor problem its a V&H problem. The only way to fix them is to remove and replace the O2 bungs into a proper mounting place. Sooner or later V&H will fix these issues if customers start complaining enough. All you can do is return them and buy a different pipe manufacture that properly places the O2 bungs.

I'd like to hear an educated answer for this question too...

A friend of mine bought a 2011 Street Glide with the 103 upgrade (not CVO). He's having heat problems and wants to increase power so we asked the tuner up at Zepka Harley if the catalytic converter could be removed from the original header pipe. He told us the new position of the 02 sensors won't allow the original header to be modified because the sensors would "cross talk" to the ECM. He said the best pipe that he knows of is the X pipe from Fuel Moto.

Get the Fullsac X Pipe for your header pipe and be done with it.  Lot's of people on here use it without any problems.

Fullsac X-pipe, 1.75 or 2.0 or 2.25" baffles to replace the SE baffles (which are terrible), K&N air filter, Master Tune TTS and you are done.

I went with the PowerVision and have been very satisfied but way to many CVO's are running the above.  Plus Steve is great to work with.

Bike will run better, get better gas mileage, not burn the hell out of your right thigh and sound like a Harley.  Without going for the full Dyno tune etc, this is a great solution.

All it takes is money and time.

This head pipe has a little different sound also, very nice! you can hear the difference using the same mufflers!
