rear brake pads

hey all anyone know the damm secret to installing new rear brake pads these routours on our bikes are ridiculous to slide the new pads in any secrets .

TODDM:

Make sure the caliper pistons are completely pushed back. It's easier to do this with reservoir cover off. Then I slide the caliper on as far as I can and then rock the wheel back and forth ever so slightly until the moment of luck and truth arrives. You have to be patient. Don't do what I once did and try to jam it on by turning the whell past point of resistance-the pads will break apart!
Don't forget to bleed and change the fluid if two years +.
Frustrating huh?

harley bill you mean you slide the break pads on as far as you can then move the wheel ever so slightly. these rotors are the pits

Yep, push back the pistons and insert the pads. Then I slide the caliper on as much as possible and then ever so gently roll the wheel forward a small amount. Just about the time you're ready to use the tried and proven Smith & Wesson method it seems to fall into place.
Real professional huh? It'll be a piece of cake after you've busted up a few like me.
