CUSE : Hammock heated seat, Help
« on: June 05, 2011, 09:27:31 AM »

Hello friends,

I'm interested by the Hammock heated seat for my CUSE '08.
In the HD parts there is # is 52000004 (with heat).
Is this # mountable on CUSE '08 ? because on the description it's : Fits '09-later Touring and Trike models.

52000004 : Is it the same # on the CUSE '11 ?

Thanks for your help

Jacques

I don't think that seat will work on te 08 because of the difference in frames on the 09 and up. Someone should come along soon and be able to tell you for sure.

No Jacques, that one won't fit your '08.  They make the Hammock for an '08, but it's not heated.

Just contact Jim (hddude) at Metal Dragon and have him order you a Corbin and be done with it.  Better seat.

Thank you for your replies !
It's clear and probably the right way is a Corbin  ;)

Hi Jacques,

I second the advice to get a corbin.

The heated Hammock looks and feels good at first - but deteriorates fast. I had mine exchanged under warranty (and it was very rarely on the bike, just some miles in winter time as I couldn't get my corbin pillion heated before this March). The new one is  neatly packed away now for the next owner  ;)

Thanks to share your experience.
I've looked on Ebay for used heated Hammock seats and they are less expensive than a new Corbin (but not mountable)
The advises are all for heated Corbin but the purchase will be later (the price is more high).

See you soon !

Jacques...when you get ready, contact Jim (hddude) here on the site.  In addition to getting you a small discount, he'll make sure the seat is built right for both you and your bike.  He's a great guy.

and while your at it - consider a custom made backrest:

got it heated (both pillion and backrest), relocated 5 cm and covered with the same material as the corbin. Cost 500 Eur but Madame is much happier since  ;D

Bisounours, Just a thought. You might want to have your original seat scuptured to fit you personally, add a gel pad, and if you want a good upholstery shop can add a heating element. Maybe you could buy some of the stock heating element switches from HD and the upholstery shop could mount them on the side where mine are on my 09. Of course it would be up to you to hook up the electric if you don't already have it. I think it will be cheaper then buying a new seat, and it will be customized for you. When they did mine I left it on the bike. After they pulled off the cover and shaped it they called me to sit on it and make sure it felt good. When I said it  was fine they put the original cover back on and it is just great. Good Luck CAHDBIKER
