Wild 1 WO 575 Bars
« on: June 06, 2011, 12:44:50 PM »

I'm looking for any updated info bars for a 2011 CVO Street Glide, wanting more pull back than stock. I have used Wild 1 in the past, nice bars. Can anyone tell me if the Hydrulic Clutch or Brake lines need to be replaced in useing WO575? Also any current pictures or comments???
Thanks DAW

Had them put on a few months ago:
Stock wire harness works - no splices required
Can't speak for the cables since I replaced the stock black for braid stainless to match the front cables to the calipers. If you want to use the stock clutch, you'll need to reroute so that it does't go through the fairing but straight  down along the down tubes. May work on front brake lever to ABS module if done by bypassing the fairing also....but it's all about aesthetics.
Last, a few complaints that the grips don't slide all the way up leaving a gap ~1/8". Fix was to grind the ends for a good fit.

Had to replace the fairing mirrors for bar mounts which I love way better.

Love the 575. The 13" pullback and wider grips are great.

stock wires and lines worked for me, just rerouted the clutch line inside the fairing and was able to go through the stock location.

I did WO575's also, but I must have gotten a cheap version of the clutch line. Mine was very tight when turning the bars all the way to the left--even after a re-route, so I replaced the clutch line, but everything else worked.

On my SEUC, the stock clutch line worked fine.  I replaced the brake lines.  All parts came from Jim... (hd dude)   :2vrolijk_21:

Just put on a set of 575's last night. Had to be creative with the clutch line, but it worked with no problem. Starting at the bottom I removed one zip tie, and ran the line on the primary side of the sending unit by the oil filter. That loosened it up and didn't rub or come to close to the exhaust. Then at the head tube there is a mount that the clutch line and both brake lines run through. I rearranged the lines in that mount so the clutch was the lowest and a straighter shot up to the fairing. I also rearranged some of the wires in the fairing to free up the clutch line. I did not disconnect the clutch line, I did all this by rearranging, unplugging and replugging plugs. By the time I was done I had plenty of clutch line, at full lock left turn you can still easily wiggle the line. Brake line and all wires has plenty of room.

The bars are mounted, wires run, still have to put it all back together tonight. I am surprised how close the bend on the 575 is to stock. I can see they are higher, and they come back more, not a huge difference though. I put a set of bar mounted mirrors on as well. The real test will be when I get out on the road.

Thanks for the info, I will be working on mine this weekend. I decided to order a new Clutch cable just in case. Let me know how it handles.

Did you also experience that the grips did not slide all the way in and had to grind the ends ?

Wolfman,

What exactly are you talking about? I only have the throttle side done, going home tonight to finish. It seemed like the throttle side grip was just kind of floating there, something didn't seem right, but it was late and I went to bed. Please elaborate!!

I did not install it myself yet, but plan to.

I was just referring to the comment of "widows son" in the beginning of this threat. The grinding part he mentioned did worry me, since on the throttle side I understand the handlebar needs a special shape to receive the electronic grip sensor.

Grip fit worked on the throttle side, grinding was required on the clutch side since I had a 1/8" gap.

has anyone had luck saving the left grip that is clued on? the manual said to cut the old one off and clue on a new one. I have had luck in the past with a heat gun and some hard pulling. Let me know if there is a easy way. Also after taking the front off i noticed the Clutch line had plenty of slack, going to try and not order the new cable.. will keep you posted
