Memorial Engraving
« on: June 06, 2011, 07:23:32 PM »

A couple years ago my 19 year old son died in a house fire while trying to save three others. He was unable to escape and died along with two young 19 year old girls. One survived but she suffers with extensive brain damage.

Anyway, I needed to do something to bring him along on my rides. I searched and ended up contacting Heather from New-Line Engraving and she did a wonderful job on engraving a take off gas lid. I purchased the lid and had the chrome, copper and nickel removed. I sent the lid up to her along with a photograph..... and had her do her magic.

http://www.new-lineengraving.com/

I was overwhelmed when I opened the box and viewed what she had created for the first time. I'm taking it into have it re chromed tomorrow for Fridays two week trip south.

Now he can travel with me on each ride.....

Sorry to hear that tragedy..... :(  I have on my chest a tatoo in memory of my daughter and grandson who died in a car accident caused by a drunk driver. The same tatoo was engraved in the gas cap lid in my previous bike. My SG doesn't has cap lid so I keep them engraved (the same tatoo) on the primary cover.....

It was a nice work!!!

Great idea to carry his memory along in this manner.  She did good work in the reproduction.  spyder

Crier, very nice!  Sorry for your loss and that of Jorge's.  There is nothing worse than the loss of a child or grandchild.
