Noise from brake discs FLHRSE08
« on: June 10, 2011, 04:55:34 AM »

Hi,
I had problems with the front brakes/wheel since the beginning. The
wheel was out-of-balance and this effected the brakes.
After changing the complete wheel including brake discs everything is fine. However,
after a few thousand km the brake discs are always "shaking" and making a noise
when the engine is in idle state resp.  when riding on bumpy roads.
It seems that the bearings of the floating brake discs are wearing out.
I clocked now abt. 26000k
Anybody here having the same experience or any solution?
My dealer says it is "normal" however, i am not convinced!
Thanks !

Best regards from good old Germany

I had something similar to what you are having. I just had to change my factory disc brakes to an upgraded pair.  Every once in awhile hose them off really good to remove brake dust. So my 2 cents is; first take somewhere else besides the HD. Second check on getting new brakes.  I hope this helps.

What rotor did you end up going to?
I need to replace my warped front rotors and am looking at the Lyndall Racing Brakes (LRB) rotors and pads.

I just upgraded on brake pads and constantly keep them clean. I make sure they are specifically looked at during service.
