Gained 18+ HP & 7ft lbs torque
« on: June 14, 2011, 03:34:32 PM »

In the latest issue of American Iron (July) they upgraded a 2007 110 with a Bassini 2 into 1 exhaust and Feuling cams & oil pump; the bike they used was mine. Between the add ons and the tuning it gained 18+ hp and 7 ft lbs torque at the rear wheel. The tuning certainly help smooth out the motor and the power is steady throughout the curve. One drawback is it cuts into the gas mileage. Averaging around 34mpg, probably because I'm on the throttle a bit more. I did get a 41mpg number but was taking it slow on backroads with a group. It also gained about a 4-5psi on the oil side.

Pipes sound good and overall I'm happy with the results. I'll load up the dyno charts when I get a chance

Was it stock before they did this?  While the HP gain is impressive, the TQ is definitely not.  But, it you weren't stock, then that's a different story.  Not being critical, but an increase in oil pressure does not necessarily equate to any more flow than it had before.  If you're happy, that's all that really matters.  :2vrolijk_21:

the only thing not stock was it had Fullsac cores with the original exhaust. Talking with the mechanic/tech he stated that he has been installing cams on these on for the most part they never really gained much torque from the install. Seems to get more tq = more $$$$ than I'd like to spend.

Your mileage sounds a little low for what you have. If you were to take a ride and control your hand you should be able to get in the 45 MPG range running in the 60 - 70 MPH range. Some get up to 50 MPG when riding in this range, so at least you have something to measure against.

Seems I have to learn to control the right wrist. With the new power gain I've zipping around more so than I have done in the past, I imagine in time I'll go back to a little more sensible control - right now its just fun having those quick bursts
