First Trip in High Elevations with Fullsac
« on: June 21, 2011, 01:35:36 PM »

I just finished a 5000 mile  trip out west in high elevations with my Fullsac X pipe, 2" cores and Andrews 54 cams. Must say it was awesome to have power some power to spare above 7000 ft. Coming from a area with 200 ft above sea level and going to the Rocky mountains, there is a substantial difference in the way these critters run out there. Last year the same bike 6th gear was impossible to crest without dropping into 5th. The bike was breathing better than I was over Monarch Pass in Colorado this year.
I did have some pinging coming across Kansas with the heat and high winds on one tank of fuel. 106 degrees loaded down and bucking a 40mph side wind, 80 mph I'd ping too. Next morning when the temps were down, no more pinging.
Thanks Steve!

Nice, huh?
I did a similar trip last year, doing some SOTP testing low octane gas, pulling a trailer, going from Death Valley to Mt. Evans.....bike ran perfect, only pinged once or twice, then timing backed it down to deal with the cheap gas. 91 octane it runs fine. I've got about the same setup as  you.
Another  :2vrolijk_21: for Fullsac! 8)
