Eureka Springs Hotel Upgrade
« on: June 21, 2011, 05:27:51 PM »

Many of us were at the Inn of the Ozarks a couple years ago.  It is a Best Western hotel property in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Since our GTG there the property's GM has kept up occasional contact and I've stayed there a couple of times.  Got a message today that they'd completed some nice new secured motorcycle parking this spring.

Thought it worth sharing for anyone who might be considering a trip to Eureka.  This was always a very biker friendly property in a very biker friendly town.  The new parking option looks to be an excellent addition.

Wow...sweet!  Is this motel within walking distance of most things, Don?  We still want to make it up there, but may be next year.

No TC it's not.  It's just west of the intersection of 23 and 62 on the south side of town.  It's a great location to go anywhere from.  But aside from a couple of restaurants (good ones too) that are close to the property nothing else is within quick walking distance.

Not a big deal, really.  To "sightsee", riding the scoot and parking it somewhere in town is not a big deal.  If there's good food (and drink) close to the motel, I'm good to go.  I just try to avoid riding the bike after a few  :drink: :drink:  these days.

There's a fuel stop (read dumpy old convenience store that does have fuel, beer and munchies) directly across the street.  My favorite BBQ place in town is a place called Bubba's and it's only a couple blocks uphill (east) from the hotel.  Uphill is good after you eat and drink.  Easier to roll back to the hotel.

It is farther than you'd want to walk to get in to town though.  Walking that far in those hills would be work.
