Lube a tech oil ( the new best oil?????)
« on: June 21, 2011, 11:17:46 PM »

Has anyone tried this oil? I spoke with Steve (from Fullsac) and he spoke so highly of this oil that I am going to order a case tommorrow. If you care to see info on the product, check lubeatech.com

So what is supposed to be so special about it?  It keeps things sliding past each other?  Seriously, oil is like shampoo - they can put hibiscus root extract and ground walrus tusk enamel in it, but in the end it's those base ingredients that do the work, and if it's good enough to do its job all the time, "better" isn't needed.  I don't know anything about this particular brand, so can't say anything bad about it; but unless it can do something in these specific engines that the others don't, there isn't much point to it.  Having a test where it retained film strength supporting a Saturn V rocket or some of the other ways they tout as being superior doesn't do it.  Royal Purple, for instance, came out not so great in a wear test, but you'll find a lot of people who swear by it and will say it's the best one to use.  Syn3 is always said to be the worst, but it's what the MoCo puts in them and recommends; they have enough engine problems to worry about without adding failures due to inadequate oil.  Oil-related failures are very rare, even when people are using non-synthetic and hit high oil temps in the pan.   That should translate into turning it into coke at the hottest parts of the engine, but somehow it survives.

My opinion, pick one you like that meets the manufacturer's spec and change it somewhere close to what the book says.  Check the level once in a while and forget about it otherwise.  This 110 is the first vehicle I've had that uses any between changes, but most of the bad stuff that can happen to an oil, high temps, air entrainment, dirt, are made worse by not having enough in the engine.

They claim " It is formulated with a special additive that minimizes “spark plug pre-ignition” problems in V-Twin engines."
REALLY! :zroflmao:
If it has a HTHS rating of 5.8 cSt or more, I would be surprised.

We may have a new winner on most obscure, meaningless claim.  An oil that will minimize spark plug pre-ignition!  I thought oil in the combustion chamber was not a good thing?

I just came out with this new formula.
It is the best blend, semi, full synthetic oil you guys can purchase.
It stops knocks, keeps heat down, flows great at all temps, won't void you factory warranty, helps rings seat better, stops piston slap, quiets valve train noise, and sometimes even changes its self if you ask nice enough!!! :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3:
I will sell  this magic elixir to you guys only, at the low low introductory price of $50.00 a pint. :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:
A small price to pay for such a wonderful product. :-\ :-\
Active ingredients are:Crappiest globalcanus,scybalum,amylase, and last but certainly not least,spermatozoa. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
You will find no better product, I assure you. ;D ;D ;D
